About the Producer

Who is House of Burgundy?

House of Burgundy is a New York City–based independent importer and distributor. Despite the name, what Cherry Hill buys and sells from them is their Turkish portfolio — and it is the whole of what we move from this vendor.

Those wines come from Kavaklıdere, Turkey’s largest and best-known producer, and from Vinkara in Anatolia — labels including Ancyra, Yakut, Çankaya, Lal, and Vinkara’s Hasandede and Kalecik Karası. They are built on indigenous Anatolian grapes such as Öküzgözü, Kalecik Karası, Hasandede, and Narince.

For Cherry Hill clients this is a genuine point of difference: well-made, well-priced wines from grape varieties almost nobody else on a Washington list is pouring — useful for restaurants building an unusual by-the-glass program and for retailers who want something their competitors do not have.
